Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound used for photocurable type antifogging compositions capable of being coated on the surfaces of glass, various kinds of plastic materials or the like to impart an antifogging property thereto.
SOLUTION: A compound of formula I {R1 is CH3(CH2)NCH2 [(n) is 1-16] or the like; R2 and R3 are each H or the like; R4 is H, CH3 or the like; X is CH3OSO3 or the like}. For example, {N-[2-(2-hydroxy-3-methacryloyloxy) propoxy]ethyl, N-(2-hydroxy-3-dodecyloxy)propyl, N-(2-hydroxy)ethyl, N-ethyl} ammonium methylsulfate. The compound of formula I is obtained, for example, by allowing an alkylglycidyl ether to react with a protected di-2- hydroxyethylamine, removing a protecting group from the obtained compound of formula II (P is an alcohol-protecting group), allowing the product to react with glycidyl (meth)acrylate, and subsequently allowing the obtained tertiary amine to react with a compound of the formula: R4X.
