Abstract:
To quench a large number of elements at low cost while suppressing the occurrence of distortion in the elements.SOLUTION: In the quenching method of an element which constitutes a belt of a continuously variable transmission and includes a pair of side surfaces formed at both ends in the width direction, the element is heated and then cooled with a cooling solution in a cooling tank. The plurality of elements are placed on a conveyor so that one of their sides is located on the side of the cooling tank and heated while being conveyed on the conveyor. From the end of the conveyor to the cooling tank, the heated elements are dropped one by one so that the elements go into the cooling solution from the end of one side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
