Title:
RANGE-FINDING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3238484
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To perform the range-finding of a desired object without erroneous decision by instructing that a situation that the light receiving level of a light receiving element is higher than a specified light receiving level is not decided as a background obtained by looking over glass at such a time.
CONSTITUTION: A light projecting element 4C is allowed to emit and project light toward the object, and the output signal level N of the light receiving element 5L is stored. The light projecting element 4R is allowed to emit and project the light toward the object. Based on data from the light receiving element 5R receiving the reflected light from the object, range-finding on a right side within a finder is performed, and the light projecting element 4L storing range-finding data R is allowed to emit and project the light toward the object. Based on the data from the light receiving element 5L receiving the reflected light, the range-finding on a left side within the finder is performed, and the range-finding data L is stored. Next, the light projecting element 4C is allowed to emit the light, and the range-finding is performed based on the data from the light receiving element 5C, then the range-finding data C is stored. The level of the stored signal N is compared with the value of a power, and when the signal N is larger than the value of the power, it is decided as a closest warning.
