Abstract:
To provide a quick digital channel change.
A selection is performed for tuning to a channel of suitable tuning time to implement the quick channel change on a digital television based amusement network. The method includes: a step of receiving a channel change request instructing a new channel requested from a client device; a step of preparing a broadcast video data stream of the requested new channel to be offset after present broadcast time of broadcast video data of the requested new channel; and a step of distributing the broadcast video data stream. The system includes a storage device for holding broadcast video data of a plurality of channels, a video data extractor for accessing the held data and extracting an intra-frame in the past of the requested new channel, and a video data distributor for transmitting the extracted intra-frame.
