Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new gene system encoding a quinate dehydrogenase.
SOLUTION: The gene is exemplified by the one encoding the quinate dehydrogenase derived from Krebsiella pneumoniae A170-40. The plasmid containing the gene, e.g. the plasmid pTW6135 or the plasmid pTW8090A, and the host cell containing the plasmid, e.g. Escherichia coli AB2848aroD/pkD136/ pTW8090A are provided.
