Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A quinone compound of formula I (n is an integer of 1W10; R1 is methyl, methoxy, or two R1 together form -CH=CH-CH=CH-; R2 is lower alkyl), or its hydroquinone.
USE: Hypotensor, analgesic antiulcer agent, antiphlogistic agent, diuretic, immune regulator, antiasthmatic agent, antiallergic agent, antithrombic agent, cerabral circulation improving agent, etc., having low toxicity.
PROCESS: The compound of formula I is prepared by removing the protection group (e.g. by hydrolysis, oxidative removal of the protection group, etc.) of the compound of formula II (R3 is protection group such as 1W3C alkyl, 1W3C alkoxymethyl, 2W4C alkanoyl, etc.), and if necessary, oxidizing the product.
