Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a radioactive As-containing compound and obtain a pharmaceutical composition containing the compound.

The method for producing the radioactive As-containing compound comprises (i) a process for irradiating neutron to an As-containing compound (selected from the group consisting of As2O3, As2S3, As2S2 and a combination of those) and converting As contained in the As-containing compound into a radioactive As isotope; and (ii) a process for collecting the resulted product from the process (i). The pharmaceutical composition containing a therapeutically effective amount of the radioactive As-containing compound and a pharmaceutically permissible support is prescribed to an injection formulation and used for treating tumors/cancers such as hematologically malignant tumors and solid tumors.
