To provide a rack apparatus that stabilizes operation of fans, not following change in temperature of air sucked in the rack apparatus, and exerts detailed control of the fans, following change in temperature due to the amount of heat generated by and the position (height) of electronic equipment in the rack apparatus.

A rack apparatus 1 houses one or more substrates 3 having electronic components therein. The rack apparatus includes: fans 6 for sucking outside air from a first side face 10 of the rack apparatus 1 and discharging the air from a second side face 11 to the outside; first sensors 4 for detecting a temperature of the air sucked from the first side face 10; second sensors 5 for detecting a temperature of the air discharged from the second side face 11; and a controller 7 for controlling the rotation of the fans 6 on the basis of differences between the temperature detected by the first sensors 4 and the temperature detected by the second sensors 5.
