Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack guide capable of improving lubrication performance without reducing a pressure receiving area in a slide surface of the rack guide, and a rack-pinion type steering device.SOLUTION: A rack guide 6 provided in a rack-pinion type steering device 1 comprises a rack guide body 62 in which a semi-cylindrical concave surface 62a is formed on an end surface in the upper part, and a slide plate piece 61 provided along the concave surface 62a of the rack guide body 62. A semi-cylindrical slide surface 61b for supporting a rack bar 3 is formed on a top face of the slide plate piece 61. On the slide surface 61b, a belt-like contact part 61c in contact with the rack bar 3 is formed along an axial direction of the rack bar 3. A plurality of dimples 61d, 61d, ... are formed side by side at both side parts of the contact 61c.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
