To provide a racket for competition capable of reducing impact by heightening the mobility of a string to the outside of the plane of a string head.

This racket for competition has a support member at a head part of a frame, and the inner wall of the frame is opened in the vicinity of the support member not to obstruct moving of the racket string in the direction of deviating from the plane of the string head. Each support member may be formed like a roller having a radius of curvature considerably larger than the diameter of the racket string, whereby the racket string part held on the periphery of the support member can be easily both pivoted and shifted according to the contact of the string head with a ball.
