Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a racket frame of multilayer structure such that two outer layers are laminated on a core from the two sides while the gut surface is interposed, with which a very high strength of the core is established, by furnishing string holes in the interface between the core and each outer layer.
CONSTITUTION: A racket frame is composed of a head 2, shaft, and grip and embodied in a three-layer structure consisting of a core 5 and a pair of outer layers 6, 7 pinching the core 5 from the sides of the gut surface. The head 2 is provided with string holes 8 by furnishing grooves 9 at the joining surface of core 5 with the outer layers 6, 7. At the peripheral surface of the core 5 of the head part 2, grooves 9 for strings are formed in such a manner that adjoining string holes 8 are tied together. In this manner, the string holes 8 are furnished in groove form at the core interface with the outer layers 6, 7 and do not penetrate the core 8, so that the resultant racket frame will have a high strength and rigidity.
