Title:
RADAR APPARATUS AND RADAR APPARATUS FOR MOTOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3721152
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar apparatus for controlling a gate power source and drain power source of an MMIC (Microwave Monolithic IC), protecting the MMIC at start-ups and stops, and avoiding the occurrence of failure in the MMIC due to residual electric charge at stops and anomalous source potential.
SOLUTION: The radar apparatus is provided with a second power source control means (timer circuits 510 and 512) for controlling the start-up of a power source so that the gate power source of a field effect transistor (FET) of an IC for high frequencies may start up prior to the drain power source; a third power source control means (charge extraction circuit part 509) for controlling the stopping of the power source so as to be stopped after the drain power source; and a first power source control means (a drain power source control circuit part 511 for radio frequencies) for turning off the drain power source of the FET of the IC for high frequencies when it is detected that any one of voltages detected by a voltage monitor means lies outside a prescribed range.
