To avoid surely and stably generation of a false image without changing a constitution greatly, in a radar device for detecting a target in a wide range by using jointly a simple pulse radar system ans a pulse compression radar system.
This radar device includes a transmission means for transmitting alternately a first transmission wave served to the pulse compression radar system and a second transmission wave served to the simple pulse radar system, and a target detection means for detecting the target, based on an arrival time from the target of a reflected wave relative to the first transmission wave and the second transmission wave. The transmission means switches an interval on the time base between the tail of the first transmission wave and the head of the second transmission wave transmitted after the first transmission wave.
