Abstract:

To provide a radar system capable of detecting azimuthal angles in a horizontal direction and an elevation direction while preventing the system from increasing in size.

An receiving antenna unit 14 comprises MN-pieces of antenna elements AE arranged in a two-dimensional matrix by arranging N-pieces of antenna rows AL, which each comprises M-pieces of antenna elements AE arranged in a row at regular intervals along an elevation direction, at regular intervals along a horizontal direction. Each antenna row AL is provided with a number according to its arrangement order in the horizontal direction. Odd-numbered antenna rows ALodd (AL1, 3, 5, ...) constituting the first unit antenna AF1 are arranged in such a way as to protrude downward in the elevation direction by the amount of one antenna element AE than even-numbered antenna rows ALeven (AL2, 4, 6, ...) constituting the second unit antenna AF2, and, conversely, the antenna rows ALeven are arranged in such a way as to protrude upward in the elevation direction by the amount of one antenna element AE than the antenna row ALodd.
