PURPOSE: To prevent the upper end section of rubber from being separated as well as to enhance the durability of a bead section by specifying relation between the thickness from the surface of an inner liner covering the wraparound section of a reinforcing layer to the surface of a reinforcing cord and the height from the bead base to the upper end of the wraparound section.

CONSTITUTION: A radial tire 1 for a heavy vehicle has a carcass cord 4a arranged in the radial direction, and includes the carcass 4 both ends of which are turned up from the inner side to the outer side around a bead core 3, including a reinforcing layer 5, and also includes an inner liner 6 in its inner surface. In addition, the reinforcing layer 5 includes both a wind-in section 5A which runs along a carcass main body section 4A rising from a bead base section 8, and a rising section 5B running along a carcass turned-up section. In this case, relation between the rubber thickness W5a from the surface of the inner liner 6 at the position of the height H5a of the upper end 5a of the wraparound section 5A to the reinforcing cord, and the height H5a up to the upper end 5a of the wraparound section 5A shall be set at a value satisfying an unequality of 6.0≥W5a≥2.335-0.0335×H5a in the unit of mm.
