Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve corrosion resistance, riding comfort and high speed durability as well as to give improvement on the problem of crushing peculiar to a carbon fiber so arranging the cord direction of the neighboring layer or a carbon fiber layer that both cords will cross each other.

CONSTITUTION: A cracass with its cord arranged in the radial direction of a tire and a belt surrounding the carcass are used for reinforcement. The belt has a carbon fiber cord with its initial modulus over 400g/D integrated in parallel in a rubber material with 100% modulus of 42W60kg/cm2 and has at least two layers of rubberized carbon fiber cord placed at 0W45° angle against the peripheral direction of the tire and its neighboring layer so arranged so to have both cords cross each other. The carbon fiber is made of an organic fiber such as acetate rayon or polyacryl or it is carbonated fiber extracted from petroleum or coal pitch material.
