PURPOSE: To equalize the performanses of the radiation detectors by using fluorescent layers each consisting of minute powdery fluorescent bodies as a scintillator.
CONSTITUTION: Particles of a fluorescent material such as Cd2O2S:Pr or the like formed by drying and pulverizing a slurry consisting of the fluorescent material and an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol and having a mean particle diameter of 200μm or less are fixed to the upper and lower inner surfaces of a radiation detecting vessel 21 having on its inner surface a photoreflective film, by means of a photopermeative bonding agent, thereby to form fluorescent particle layers 22. By this organization, an incident X-ray 26 is absorbed during the passage of a radiation detecting vessel 21, and light rays emitted from the fluorescent particle layers 22 pass through a space 27a and are incident in a photoelectric converting element 25, and converted into a current and measured thereby a radiation detector having small irregularity in the characteristic. Accordingly, when 30 is 1,000 radiation detectors are connected to each other, a desired object radiation detecting device can be obtained.
