Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation detector that generates large thermo-electromotive force and a method for detecting electromagnetic wave using the same.SOLUTION: A method for detecting electromagnetic force, comprises: preparing a radiation detector including a thin film, a substrate, a electromagnetic wave reflection film, a first electrode, and a second electrode; and determining that the radiation detector is radiated with electromagnetic wave when a potential difference between the first electrode and the second electrode is measured and detected. In the radiation detector, the substrate is sandwiched between the thin film and the electromagnetic wave reflection film, and the thin film has a crystalline body having anisotropy in Seebeck coefficient and a crystal surface that becomes a base to develop the anisotropy, and the substrate has a crystalline body, and an angle α between the crystal surface of the thin film and a surface of the substrate is greater than or equal to 10° and less than or equal to 80°, and an angle β between a low index plane of the substrate and the surface of the substrate is greater than or equal to 10° and less than or equal to 80°, and the first electrode and the second electrode are electrically connected to the thin film.
