To provide a radiation detector for discriminating gamma rays, X-rays or electron beam and particle radiation in the radiation detector for detecting phonons generated on a base by radiation absorption by a superconducting tunnel junction element manufactured on a single crystal base.
In the radiation detector for detecting phonons generated on a base by radiation absorption by a superconducting tunnel junction element manufactured on a single-crystal base, the radiation detector enabling radiation species discrimination is realized, by utilizing the rise time of charged pulse signal of the superconducting tunnel junction element being different between gamma ray, X ray or electron beam and particle radiation enabling discrimination of signals.
