To provide a radiation heating apparatus which is difficult to be damaged and which is capable of easily checking even with any damage.
A radiation heating apparatus is adapted such that a fuel is burned in a box-shaped structure, and a furnace and an object in the furnace are heated with radiation from the box-shaped structure mainly heated with a flame. The box-shaped structure consists of a metal bottomed cylindrical portion 1 and a refractory cover portion 2. To the cover portion 2 there are connected a pair of heat storage combustion burners that include a heat storage structure 9 and that combust alternately. Cutoff valves 23 and 24 are provided on a fluid passage on an exhaust gas outlet side of the heat storage structure 9, and a checking gas blowing hole 16 is provided in the cover portion 2.
