A method for manufacturing a radiation image conversion panel which has a stimulable phosphor layer (phosphor layer) on a support is characterized in that the stimulable phosphors during the luminance of the stimulable phosphor layer, where the distance between a material for the stimulable phosphors and a substrate is set at 7cm to 60cm, is formed through a gas phase method by controlling the temperature of the substrate to vaporize the material for the stimulable phosphors under the pressure of 1.0×10-2Pa at a vaporization speed of 0.5 to 10μm/min.
