To provide a radiation image reader by which an excellent radiation image is obtained by accurately preventing image irregularity and an image defect from occurring with simple constitution.
The radiation image reader 1 includes: an optical unit 2 which irradiates a reading surface of a flexible stimulable phosphor sheet S with exciting light L1 while scanning it with the exciting light, and photoelectrically converts generated stimulated luminescence L2, so as to read image data; a driving roller 3 which conveys the stimulable phosphor sheet S provided with a magnetic layer in a conveying direction Y; and a guide means 4 which includes a guide plate 41 curved toward an upward side from a downward position of the optical unit 2. The driving roller 3 is arranged at a position where the stimulable phosphor sheet S is irradiated with the exciting light L1, includes magnetic force, and rotates and conveys the stimulable phosphor sheet S while attracting the magnetic layer of the stimulable phosphor sheet S from below. The guide means 4 includes a magnet 42 attracting the magnetic layer of the stimulable phosphor sheet S and conveying the stimulable phosphor sheet S while sliding it on the guide means 4.
