Abstract:

To enable continuous use even when a defect is caused in a pixel.

An electronic cassette 1 includes a plurality of dose detecting pixels 60B for outputting a pixel value corresponding to a dose of irradiated radiation rays. A cassette control part 26 organizes a plurality of blocks respectively including some of the plurality of dose detecting pixels 60B, and determines whether or not a defect exists for each block on the basis of the pixel value of the pixel 60B included in each of the organized blocks. A cassette control part 26 detects a radiation ray in unit of the organized block, and generates a radiation image on the basis of a pixel value of the pixel included in each of the plurality of blocks including a defective block. The cassette control part also detects a radiation ray in unit of the organized block and detects a cumulative dose of radiation rays irradiated on the basis of a pixel value of the pixel included in each of normal blocks except the defective block.
