Abstract:
To provide a mechanism that can use an activating substance irrespective of various shapes of devices including the substance.SOLUTION: A substance activating member 1 of one example of a radiation irradiation structure has a laminated structure of a metal layer 11 and a radiation generating layer 12. The metal layer 11 contains metal or an alloy having an oxidation reduction potential of 0 V or less and has a plate shape or a foil shape. The radiation generating layer 12 contains a mixture of natural ore containing a radioactive substance, a metal or alloy powder having an oxidation reduction potential of -1.5 V or more and 0 V or less and a radiation permeable resin. Metal or alloy powder having an oxidation reduction potential of less than -1.5 V is not substantially contained in the mixture. The amount of radiation generated by the radiation generating layer is 0.02 μSv/h or more and 0.2 μSv/h or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
