Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a composition, improved in radiation resistance and suitable as an electrical insulating material, etc., within high-radiation area such as nuclear power station by blending a random copolymer of ethylene and a styrene-based monomer with a specific hydrogen donative substance. CONSTITUTION:A radiation-resistant resin composition obtained by blending (A) 100 pts.wt. ethylenic copolymer which is a random copolymer of substantially ethylene and a styrene-based monomer with 3-40wt.% content of the styrene- based monomer with (B) 0.1-40 pts.wt. one or more components selected from (B1) a hydrogen donative substance composed of a hydrogenated oil prepared by hydrogenating coal-based tar or an oil obtained by fractional distillation thereof and (B2) a hydrogen donative substance, etc., composed of a hydrogenated oil prepared by hydrogenating an oil, produced by thermal cracking, catalytic cracking or catalytic reforming of petroleum and having >=200 deg.C boiling point, as necessary, (C) 0.01-20 pts.wt. one or more antioxidants selected from hindered phenolic antioxidants, etc., and further (D) 5-200 pts.wt. flame retardant.
