Title:
RADIATOR COOLING SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5744723
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To decrease power consumption of an engine, by driving a radiator fan by means of a turbocharger utilizing energy possessed by exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:A turbocharger S consists of a compressor C and a turbine T which have housing 11, 12 respectively formed at a portion of intake and exhaust passages 9, 10. Their compressor wheel 13 and turbine wheel 14 are connected directly to each other by a turning shaft 15, which has an extension 15a extended through the turbine wheel 14 and projected to the outside of housing 12. A radiator fan Rf is fixed to the outer end of the extended shaft portion 15a. Since, with such an arrangement, the radiator fan can be driven by the supercharger through an efficient use of energy possessed by the exhaust gas, it is enabled to reduce power consumption of the engine required for driving the radiator fan considerably.
