Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the receiving sensitivity characteristics of a receiver by arranging the signal point of a pilot symbol while keeping the average transmission power of a transmitter at a certain constant level.
SOLUTION: In a radio communication system for performing adaptive modulation, the signal point of the pilot symbol is arranged on an in-phase-quadrature plane (IQ plane) so as to make receiving sensitivity in the receiver best while keeping the average transmission power of the transmitter at the certain constant level. When the amplitude of the pilot symbol signal point is defined as rpilot and the rpilot is made large, resistance to noise of the pilot symbol becomes strong, the estimated accuracy in fading distortion and estimated accuracy in frequency offset are improved in the receiver, highly accurate detection can be performed, thereby receiving sensitivity characteristics of the receiver is improved.
