To provide a radio communication facility and a radio communication method for a container carrying apparatus of a container yard, without deteriorating a radio wave state nor interrupting radio communication.
Plate type antennas 21a-21c for transmitting and receiving a directional radio wave, are arranged toward the traveling direction of AGV 15 to traveling passages 19a-19c. A leakage coaxial antenna 22 for transmitting and receiving the radio wave on the periphery of a leakage coaxial cable, is extended in the traveling direction of the AGV 15 to a traveling passage 19d. The AGV 15 is provided with an airborne antenna 25 corresponding to the plate type antennas 21a-21c and an airborne antenna 27 corresponding to the leakage coaxial antenna 22. The radio communication is performed using the plate type antennas 21a-21c and the airborne antenna 25 when traveling on the traveling passages 19a-19c, and using the leakage coaxial antenna 22 and the airborne antenna 27 when traveling on the traveling passage 19d.
