To improve performance of error correction by preventing a transmission error of information bits when information bits and a parity bit are subjected to multi-level modulation and transmitted.

A radio communication method includes the steps of: performing by a radio transmitter, error correction encoding where the parity bit is added to the information bits; allocating by the radio transmitter, information bits and parity bit to a symbol so that the information bits are allocated to bits having high error tolerance among a plurality of bits allocated to the one symbol; and decoding by a radio receiver, the information bits and parity bit allocated to the symbol received from the radio transmitter, based upon the allocation.
