In the radio communication system such as a radio tag reader and a non-contact IC card reader for communicating with a radio communication medium such as a radio tag and a non-contact IC card by using electromagnetic waves, a plurality of radio communication equipment are parallelly arranged at the post stage of the radio communication equipment at a first stage in a form that the radio communication medium is attached to a paper sheet or the like, such as securities, mail and a passing ticket and is subjected to solid identification. In the case that the paper sheet to be carried is shorter than the assumed carrying interval and that two paper sheets are overlapped, these events are detected to switch carrying passages of the paper sheets, and the radio communication equipment at the post stage performs communication with the radio communication medium in the paper sheets.
