Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system and the portable information terminal where the power of the portable information terminal having a radio communication function is saved.
SOLUTION: A server 104 stores data of an electronic mail corresponding to an address of a terminal 110 used and registered in advance and when one items of data of the electronic mail or over is stored, the data of the electronic mail are sent up to the corresponding destination terminal 110 via a public network 101 in a prescribed timing. The portable information terminal 110 is a battery driven terminal and provided with a radio communication section that makes data communication with radio base stations 102, 103 whose use is registered in the server 104 and connecting to the public network 101 via a radio channel, a clock section that recognizes a prescribed waiting period, and a radio control section that activates the radio communication section for the waiting period only to set the waiting operation. Then the power of the portable information terminal is saved by sending the electronic mail data from the server 104 to the portable information terminal within the waiting period.
