To provide a dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) type radio communication system, wherein the abnormality of a road-side antenna can further be surely detected.
In the system where a base station 1 and a mobile station 2 can perform radio communications with each other according to a DSRC scheme, the base station 1 comprises a measuring section 7, so that the number of times of incurring communication abnormality in a communication section 3 is measured to calculate a communication abnormality rate; and when a communication abnormality rate X exceeds an evaluation threshold Xlim an evaluation section 9 determines abnormality in a road-side antenna 4. A monitor section 10 outputs a road-side antenna abnormality signal to a display section (not shown) provided inside the base station 1 so as to display the abnormality of the road-side antenna on the display section; and at the same time, the road-side antenna abnormality signal is also outputted to the outside, so as to also report road-side antenna abnormality to another apparatus 11 relating to the base station 1. Thus, a plurality of communication results are evaluated time-sequentially, to determine abnormality;and since the evaluation does not depending on each communication status, abnormality can be surely detected without the risk that abnormality may be missed.
