To make improvable the meter reading efficiency by making it unnecessary for a user to consider the transmission and reception frequencies of slave devices by storing the transmission and reception frequency setting information of the slave devices in a master device, and preventing the user from making any artificial mistake such as a forgetfulness or mistake of the transmission and reception frequencies of the slave devices, and making it unnecessary for the master device to confirm the transmission and reception frequencies used by all the slave devices for every communication.
The transmission and reception frequency setting information of the slave device is stored in a storing means 7 according to an input from an outside inputting means 8. When the slave device being the destination of communication is designated, a control means 6 reads the transmission and reception frequency setting information of the slave device stored in the storing means 7, and controls a radio communicating means 5 to transmit and receive data by the transmission and reception frequency. Also, the control means 6 reads the transmission and reception frequency setting information of the salve device from the storing means 7 during the transmission and reception with the slave device, and allows a display means 9 to easily display the present transmission and reception frequency of the slave device.
