Abstract:

To provide a radio paging system by which a massage sent from a telephone set to a pager can be entered in speech.

A speech recognition section 16 recognizes speech picked up by a microphone 19, converts the recognized speech into character information, by referencing a character information conversion table 17 and converts the character information into a pocket pager numeral code, by referring to a numeral code conversion table 18. A PB signal transmission section 15 converts a pager numeral code into a PB signal and transmits the PB signal to a public network 10 via a subscriber line control section 12. A specific message storage section 25 stores in advance a plurality of specific messages, to each of which a registration number is given without modifying speech signals. The speech signal selected by designating a registration number is voice-recognized, the recognized speech signal is converted into character information into a numeral code and into a PB signal, which is transmitted to the public network. furthermore, a loud speaker 20 sounds a specific message.
