PURPOSE: To eliminate an influence of the additive noise of a standby line as the switching destination at the time of fading in the hybrid repeating system.

CONSTITUTION: A transmission end station 103 and a reception end station 105 are connected with an intermediate repeater station 104' by the frequency division multiplexing of current lines 102, 102', and 102" and standby lines 101, 106, and 101", and one lines are selected by line switching devices 2 and 10. The intermediate repeater station 104' performs non-regenerative repeating for the current line 102' but performs regenerative repeating for the standby line 106. When the current line is switched to the standby line at the time of fading, frequency selective fading is relieved, and addition of noise is reduced because of regenerative repeating.
