PURPOSE: To automatically switch a cordless telephone mode and a portable telephone mode corresponding to position information depending on a function for detecting a present position (GPS) by providing the GPS at the radio telephone equipment provided with the function of a portable telephone (such as a function for enabling access to a first radio system) outdoors and the function of a cordless telephone (such as a function for enabling access to a second radio system) around home.
CONSTITUTION: This radio telephone equipment is provided with a position information detection part 12 for detecting the position of the radio telephony equipment carried by a user, position information storage part 13 for storing the position information of a radio telephony equipment base unit connected to a public line or a radio base station connected to the public line, distance calculation part 15 for calculating a distance between the radio telephone equipment master unit or the radio base station and the radio telephony equipment carried by the user, and distance registration part 14 for registering a distance for enabling communication with a radio telephone equipment hand set. Then, the cordless telephone mode and the portable telephone mode are automatically switched by comparing the previously registered distance for enabling the communication with the radio telephone equipment with the calculated distance.
