Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a radio wave absorbent where a radio wave introducing body whose tip is protected against damage can be kept high enough in return loss to radio waves of a certain frequency band.
CONSTITUTION: A radio wave absorbent is composed of a base 11 formed of conductive foamed material, tapered radio wave introducing bodies 10 which are formed of conductive foamed material and arranged in line on the base 11 making their edged tips extend upward, and protective members 12 each fitted between the adjacent bodies 10 so as to protect their tips, where the surface of the protective member 12 confronting the base 11 is formed into tapered projections 13. With this constitution, a radio wave absorbent of this design can be increased in return loss to radio waves 5 to 10GHz in frequency.
