Abstract:

To provide a radio wave absorber that can obtain absorption effect at a target frequency, without being affected by the precision of the thickness of a dielectric or the incident angle of radio waves, and to provide its manufacturing method.

A /4 radio wave absorber 100 is formed by stacking a reflecting body 10 to reflect entering radio waves, a first dielectric 21 that is arranged adjacent to the reflecting body 10 and has a specified dielectric ratio; a second dielectric 22 that is arranged adjacent to the first dielectric 21 and has a dielectric ratio different from that of the first dielectric 21, and a resistance film 30. The second dielectric has a dielectric ratio smaller than that of the first dielectric, and an irregular shape is formed on the boundary surface between the first and second dielectrics 21 and 22. Since the irregular shape is formed into a dome-like shape, to thereby obliquely bend the entering radio waves due to its dielectric lens effect, so that influence due to incident angle is less apt to be received, even if the incident angle of radio wave varies, changes in the absorption frequency are small.
