Abstract:

To obtain a radio wave absorber sintered at a low temp., by using a radio wave absorbing Mg-Zn ferrite contg. an Fe oxide, Mg oxide, Cu oxide and Mg oxide in specified mol.% range.

A mixed powder contg. an Fe oxide 45-50 mol.%, Mg oxide 7-19.7 mol.%, Zn oxide 24-28.5 mol.%, Cu oxide 4-16 mol.%, and Mg oxide 0.1-6 mol.% is calcined at 900°C in the air for 2 hrs. and wet crushed for 15 hrs., using a steel bowl mill to obtain an Mg-Zn ferrite powder to which a polyvinyl alcohol water soln. is 10 wt.% added to granulate the powder at desired pressure into desired compact, and the compact is sintered at temps. ranging from 950°C to 1150°C in the air for 3 hrs. to complete a radio wave absorber.
