Simultaneously when measurement is started, synchronizing signal generators 1-10 and 1-3 are simultaneously started on the moving side and the reception side, and a synchronized signal is measured on the transmission side and the reception side. In this case, on the reception side, a signal of the synchronizing signal generator 1-3 is held in a measuring data preserving computer 1-5 by passing a received signal through an A/D converter 1-4 as a sampling signal. On the other hand, on the moving side, a distance pulse signal of a distance pulse generator 1-9 is also sampled by passing a signal of the synchronizing signal generator 1-10 through the A/D converter 1-4 as a trigger, and is preserved in a distance pulse preserving computer 1-11. After measurement is finished, both computers 1-5 and 1-11 are connected to each other by a communication cable, and moving side positional information (distance pusle data) is transferred to the reception side, and is joined to reception side measuring data.
