Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure soundness of a joint portion between an outer cylinder and a trunk body against thermal deformation of a heat transfer fin.SOLUTION: The container for housing radioactive substances is cylindrically shaped with an opening formed on one side and a bottom part (closing part) formed on the other side, and includes: a trunk body 21 having a radioactive substance storage part inside thereof; a lid part detachably attachable to the trunk body 21 so as to close the opening part; an outer cylinder 25 provided on an outer peripheral part of the trunk body 21 and storing a neutron shielding body; and a plurality of heat transfer fins 25A formed like a flat plate extending in an axial direction of the trunk body 21 to be connected to the trunk body 21 and the outer cylinder 25 within the outer cylinder 25 and arranged in a peripheral direction of the trunk body 21. The heat transfer fin 25A is provided inclined in both of forward and backward directions against the direction orthogonal to an axis of the trunk body 21.
