Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a reproduced radiograph which clearly shows the scratches, etc., of an object by adding a correction signal for compensating the distribution characteristic of the basic radiation ray absorptivity of the object to an image signal so that correction may be executed.

CONSTITUTION: A signal correction means 19 is provided, which adds the correction signal for the characteristic for compensating the difference of the basic radiation ray absorptivity of the object to the image signal obtained by reading stimulated luminous light 13 emitted from an accumulating phosphor sheet 1 where the radiograph information of the object is recorded by a photoelectric read means 15. By excellently compensating the difference of the basic radiation ray absorptivity in the object by the signal correction means 19, the corrected image signal becomes nearly flat regardless of the distribution characteristic of the radiation ray absorptivity of the object. Thus, the minute signal difference caused by the damaged part, etc., is enlarged and the image signal which clearly shows the damaged part, etc., is obtained.
