Abstract:
To shorten a time for reading a radiograph in mammography for obtaining the radiograph while the breasts of a subject are held and pressed between pressing plates.
When reading the charge signal of a region-of-interest (high-definition read area HRA) of a radiograph recorded by a radiation transformer 10, a signal detector is operated in a high-definition read mode and when reading a charge signal in a region-of-no-interest (high-speed read area HSA), the signal detector is operated in a high-speed read mode, thereby greatly shortening the time for image reading in comparison with a case where the signal detector is operated in the high-definition read mode for all the image regions (region-of-interest + region-of-no-interest).
