To provide a radiowave absorber which can absorb powerful radio waves in the band used for telecasting.
A wave absorber 1 is formed by successively laminating an Mn-Zn ferrite mortar layer 3 and an Mn-Zn ferrite mortar layer 4 upon the rear surface of a cosmetic plate 2 in this order. The ferrite material forming the layer 4 is prepared by replacing part of a ferrite material composed of Mg-Zn ferrite grains with Mg-Zn ferrite grains. When such replacement is made, the Mn-Zn ferrite mortar layer 4 which has been apt to cause a radio wave absorbing characteristic change when the moisture content of the layer 4 changes is stabilized, and the peak of the radio wave absorptive power of the layer 4 is brought to the center of the VHF band. In addition, the radio wave absorption of the layer 4 can be improved.
