To provide a rail guard for a gage variable bogie for rolling stock capable of excluding a compact obstacle on a rail head top face while satisfying request of limit of the rolling stock.

A guard rubber plate 26 for a narrow gage track is provided above a rail head top face of the narrow gage track, and a guard rubber plate 26 for a standard gage track is provided above a rail head top face of the standard gage track. Each guard rubber plate 26 is connected with a brake caliper 10 through Bowden wires 19, 20, and each guard rubber plate 26 is vertically moved in accordance with moving of the brake caliper 10 in the direction of axle. When the rolling stock runs on the track on one side, the guard rubber plate 26 corresponding to the track on one side lowers, and the guard rubber plate 26 corresponding to the track on the other side rises.
