To provide a rail joint connecting fastener capable of preventing stress from being concentrated on a specified position of a bolt and preventing the breakage of the bolt.
The rail joint connecting fastener comprises the bolt 14 and a nut 15, and is used for fixing joint plates 13 provided at both sides of a rail 11 in a joint of the rail 11 to the rail 11 by passing the bolt 14 through the rail 11 and through-holes 17a and 17c of both joint plates 13 to fasten with the nut 15. A circular groove 20 having an arc-shaped cross section is recessed in the back of a head 14a of the bolt 14 so as to be continuous from a shaft section 14b. The inner circumferential surface of the nut 15 is formed in a tapered shape so that a diameter can be widened as it goes to the head 14a side of the bolt 14. A cross sectional form of the bottom of a valley forming a male screw 21 of the bolt 14 is formed in an arc-shape larger than a value prescribed in JIS B 0205 or JIS B 0207 as a radius of an arc.
