Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a railroad bogie having a short wheel base increasing a stability under a double pivot structure and further provide a rail grinder using this bogie.
CONSTITUTION: Wheels 26 are fixed to the right and left walking beams 27 of a bogie 24. Each of the walking beams 27 can be moved in a lateral direction in respect to its corresponding pivot frame 28. In the case that the bogie 24 runs on a curved segment of each of the rails, the walking beams 27 are moved in a lateral direction to maintain the bogie in a correct gauge. This bogie 24 is utilized in a vehicle for a rail grinder. The rail grinder is fixed to the pivot frame and follows a curve of the rail.
