Abstract:
To provide a cowcatcher for a railway vehicle capable of reducing a possibility of derailment of the railway vehicle by reducing moment force for turning a vehicle body caused by its collision reaction force when the railway vehicle collides with an obstacle with a large mass such as a standard-sized vehicle.SOLUTION: A cowcatcher 10 for a railway vehicle is mounted on a head part 1S of a railway vehicle 1 and is formed to remove an obstacle S on a rail track. The cowcatcher includes a life guard plate 11 with a horizontal cross sectional shape including a curved surface body or a polyhedron with a circular arc shape around a shaft SJ1 that passes the vicinity of a center SJ of gravity of a vehicle body of the railway vehicle and is perpendicular to the ground.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
