To provide a railroad vehicle including a collision energy absorption structure capable of surely absorbing a large amount of energy with reduced space, a passageway opening frame, and the collision energy absorption structure.
A collision energy absorption structure is configured by arranging the passageway opening frame 50 having energy absorption members discretely in a longitudinal direction and in a form to be fitted to the inner side along the peripheral edge of the passageway opening of a railroad vehicle end, and joining it with a vestibule diaphragm frame 70 through the energy absorption members by a fastening parts 120. Thus, since the passageway opening frame 50 has both a function of forming the passageway opening and a function of absorbing collision energy, the space of the collision energy absorption structure is reduced. Simultaneously, since the energy absorption members are arranged in a planar shape along the passageway opening frame 50, the energy absorption members surely absorb collision energy without totally buckling.
