Abstract:
To provide a railway carriage with access adapted for passengers on wheel chair without any assistance of train personnel.
The railway carriage has a floor surface 4 having at least one lower platform 26 and two higher floor level surfaces 30, 31. The lower platform 26 has the floor height lower than the higher floor level surfaces 30, 31, and is arranged opposite to a door 10. The lower platform 26 is capable of performing the translational motion. The lower platform 26 is connected to the higher floor level surfaces 30, 31 by inclined passages 32, 28, 34.
